The DVIXHDMMI is a DVI to HDMI converter with an addtional SPDIF digital audio input.

The digital audio input is embedded in the HDMI audio stream using a RCA socket also know as COAX.
HDMI capable receivers can extract the earlier embedded audio data and reproduce over internal speakers or process with an AV receiver.
